This issue looks at Canada’s unwavering support for Israel, the execution order for Pastor Youcef in Iran, and more.
OUR ISRAELI CONNECTION
Front Page Jerusalem Salutes Canada
Front Page Jerusalem reports: Given all the challenges that it faces, the nation of Israel is constantly reaching out to other countries around the world to find friends and allies. The support of the United States is very important, but Jerusalem also needs allies in the European Union and elsewhere. And in recent years, no nation has shown more solidarity and understanding for Israel than Canada. Ever since Stephen Harper became the country’s prime minister in 2006, Canada has distinguished itself as Israel’s staunchest ally in the entire world. Indeed, there is no other government on the planet today more supportive of Israel than Harper’s conservative government, which was just returned to power in Ottawa. And this moral stand with Israel has come at a great price for Canada in terms of its own international standing.
News from the Jerusalem Prayer Team
Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and National Security Council deputy director Ali Baqeri, have been attempting to deter an Israeli attack by making increasing threats of retaliation. Khamenei promised that “iron fists” would be raised against Israel, and Baqeri went even further. On a visit to Russia (which has supplied much of the technology Iran is using to build its nuclear weapons), Baqeri said, “If the Zionist regime [attacks] a question of its existence will arise-not a question of its legitimacy, but a question of its existence.”
The intense pressure on Israel to stand back and “wait and see” on Iran was ramped up again over the weekend. President Obama sent his National Security Advisor to Jerusalem for another round of meetings with my friend Prime Minister Netanyahu. Meanwhile both General Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, and British Foreign Secretary William Hague publicly declared that Israel should not launch an attack on Iran.
At least five more rockets fired from Gaza (the land Israel gave up for peace in 2005) struck southern Israel this week. Thankfully no one was injured, although there was some property damage.
Iran is now fueling its test reactors with nuclear fuel rods that they have produced themselves. Previously, Iran had been dependent on importing these advanced rods from other countries. In addition, Ahmadinejad said that Iran now has new high-speed centrifuges capable of producing more highly enriched uranium much more rapidly.
Citing Iran’s willingness to flout international law and the sanctions that have been put in place in an effort to halt the Islamic regime’s nuclear weapons program, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last week said that “sanctions on Iran are not working” because Iran “breaks all the rules.”

Obama Gestapo Arrests Group for Praying in Front of White House
Godfather Politics reports: Occupy Washington protesters have been camping on US Park Service property for the past four months. They littered and trashed the park. They urinated and defecated all over it. They even defaced public property and nearby buildings. But few arrests were ever made. However, let a group of six religious leaders kneel and pray in front of the White House, only to have Obama’s Gestapo-like US Park Police swoop down like vultures on a fresh kill and carry the men off to jail. Muslim Capitol Bomb Plotter Was Illegal Alien Bush/Obama Wouldn’t Deport
Debbie Schlussel reports: Amine El Khalifi a/k/a Sidi Mohamed Amine El Khalifi, the Moroccan national who plotted to blow up the U.S. Capitol Building as a suicide bomber, is exactly the kind of illegal alien the Bush and Obama Administrations told ICE agents NOT to deport, not to round up. Hands off. You see, until the plot in which FBI agents set up El-Khalifi, he was an illegal alien who’d been here for over a decade without a criminal record. And beginning with Bush-but made doubly official under Obama-ICE agents were ordered not to arrest or deport illegal aliens without a criminal record. Read more.
Egyptians, Jordanians Question Peace with Israel
The Israel Project reports: Recent polls in Egypt and Jordan show a plurality in both countries favor revoking their peace treaties with Israel – but the amount of support the accords still maintain should be a source of encouragement, according to a public opinion expert. Dr. David Pollock of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy told a conference call sponsored by The Israel Project that the revolution that overthrew Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak last year has left many question marks about the country’s political future including its relationship with Israel. Take Action to Free Pastor Youcef
Jordan Sekulow reports: Our sources in Iran believe Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani’s execution order has been issued. He is still alive, but his death is imminent unless the Supreme Leader of Iran intervenes. Our aggressive international efforts to secure the release of this persecuted pastor continue to grow. The White House and U.S. State Department have now condemned Iran and joined the call for his release. Take action by signing our petition calling for Pastor Youcef’s immediate release.
