This issue looks at the continuing destruction of the Temple Mount, Obama’s “give” and “take” regarding Israel, Pastor Rick Warren’s latest troubling comment, the recent endorsement of Ron Paul by Hezbollah, rewritten history in our new textbooks, and the upturn in Iranian executions.OUR ISRAELI CONNECTION
Destruction of the Temple Mount Continues
One Jerusalem reports: A “secret report” by a high level Israeli authority documents the Muslim religious authority (The WAQF) continuing its long standing project of destroying evidence of ancient Jewish artifacts on Judaism’s most holy site the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem. “An investigative report by Yedioth Ahronoth revealed the ongoing failure of various Israeli authorities in safeguarding the rare archaeological treasures found on Temple Mount. Information elicited by the newspaper showed that the Waqf is consistently erasing any trace of Jewish history at the site.” Read more.
Obama’s Troubling Turn
One Jerusalem reports: A day after he reassured American Israel supporters at AIPAC with the words “I’ve got Israel’s back,” President Obama appeared to challenge Israel by publicly stating that any action Israel may take against Iran may have negative consequences for the United States. President Obama also reiterated his belief that now is a time when diplomacy can stop Iran’s nuclear program. The President’s words are chilling. For three years, his Iran policy has been centered on negotiating with the butchers of Tehran. Then, under extreme Congressional pressure, Obama reluctantly supported imposing sanctions on Iran. At the same time, Obama and senior members of his administration have publicly warned Israel against taking any military action.
IT’S NEWS TO ME
Pastor Rick Warren Says Allah and God Are “One and the Same”
Godfather Politics reports: Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California is the eighth largest church in the United States with an average attendance of 20,000 or more. Rick Warren is the founder and senior pastor of this mega church. He is also known for his popular book and program of church growth known as The Purpose Driven Church. He has built his temple of thousands on a platform of liberal theology. His preaching is more emotionally based than spiritually based which is how, according to Warren, you build a big church.
In his typical liberal fashion, Pastor Warren has joined a movement known as King’s Way. The movement’s goal is to bring Christians and Muslims together without either group trying to proselytize or convert the other. As part of this effort, Warren announced that he wants to create a set of principles that both evangelical Christians and Muslims could agree to in the effort to bring churches and mosques closer together. One of those principles is that we both worship the same God. In other words, God and Allah are one in the same deity. Read more.
Hezbollah Endorses Ron Paul
Debbie Schlussel reports: I’ve already told you about Ron Paul’s vote to continue U.S. aid and funding to HAMAS. And he also has the group’s Shi’ite counterpart, Hezbollah, on his side, too, just as he did when he ran for President in 2008. As you know, today (Feb. 28) is Michigan’s Presidential Primary. And, yesterday, Ron Paul made a special campaign appearance in Dearbornistan for a reason. That’s where his Hezbollah-supporter Muslims have their highest concentration in America. The Paul campaign passed out Arabic campaign literature. Apparently, the irony was lost on Ron Paul that the literature says in English, “Restore America Now,” and everything else on it is in Arabic.
Textbook Report Imminent
Act for America reports: In about two weeks we will be releasing our textbook analysis report entitled “Education or Indoctrination? The Treatment of Islam in 6th through 12th Grade American Textbooks.” This report is the culmination of three and one-half years of planning, research, writing and editing. Here’s just one example of what our research found:
When dealing with the 9/11 terrorist attack, the textbooks routinely omit any reference to the fact that the terrorists were Muslims or that they were acting in the cause of Islamic jihad. Imagine textbooks in 1951 teaching about the attack on Pearl Harbor and neglecting to mention that the attack was perpetrated by the Japanese Imperial Navy.
Amnesty: Executions in Iran Spiked Last Year
The Israel Project reports: Iran publically executed around four times as many people in 2011 as in 2010, a new Amnesty International report published Tuesday said. “Casting a shadow over all those who fall foul of Iran’s unjust justice system is the mounting toll of people sentenced to death and executed,” the report said. The regime uses public hangings to intimidate the public and make an example of those it regards as seditious. At least three juvenile offenders were among those hanged, which is illegal under international law, the report said. Read more.
