Two Stark Suicidal Examples of How Israel is Israel’s Worst Enemy (Helping Turkey Destroy Israel?!)
Debbie Schlussel reports: As I’ve always said, the worst enemies of the Jews are the Jews.
Far-left Jews, liberal Jews, and any other Jews who have a desire to display self-loathing, self-hatred, and flat-out anti-Semitism. And, in that same vein, the worst enemy of Israel is usually . . . Israel. So it goes with Israel’s decision to do two absurd things: 1) give anti-Israel, pro-HAMAS Turkey the equipment to strengthen the abilities of Turkey’s AWACS planes, and 2) give Barack Obama some silly, completely false, and undeserved award. The latter, the award to Obama, is predictable, though, because it’s being given out by Israel’s biggest enemy from within: far-left, warmed over President Shimon Peres, the non-brains behind the Oslo Accords and other suicidal moves by Israel. As I’ve told you, time and again, the guy is a disaster and a perpetual schmuck to Israel. Read more.
News from the Israel Project
U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon warned that Iran is copying North Korea in order to develop its own nuclear weapons capabilities and the U.N. Security Council must take “firm, decisive and effective” action. His comments came as press reports revealed Iran’s nuclear chief was present in North Korea last week when Pyongyang, known for having one of the worst human rights records on the planet, conducted its third nuclear bomb test in violation of international treaties.
Russian expressions of continued support for the regime of Bashar al-Assad have analysts and diplomats worried that Moscow’s policies may undermine a new Western push, outlined this week by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, to end Syria’s two-year conflict. European Union nations have become increasingly vocal in criticizing Russia’s role in propping up Assad and thereby extending the Syrian conflict.
Egypt is sending a security delegation to Israel this week to discuss a range of security issues including the ongoing implementation of the Egyptian-brokered truce between Israel and Hamas that ended last November’s Operation Pillar of Defense. The Israeli campaign came after weeks of escalatory rocket and missile fire by Hamas-led groups, targeting Israeli civilians and utilizing increasingly sophisticated weaponry.
Sources in the Free Syrian Army, the main armed group fighting to overthrow the regime of Bashar al-Assad, are announcing that its soldiers have bombed two Hezbollah compounds, one in Syria and another in the Lebanese town of Hermel. If confirmed, the development may mark a critical turn in Syria’s two-year war, bearing out fears that the increasingly sectarian conflict would spill over across Syria’s borders.
