Meet Israel’s New Government
CFI-IND reports: As of March 14, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has managed to put together a majority coalition “that could change the way some things are run in Israel” (Israel Today Magazine, March 14). Until now, Ultra-Orthodox religious parties had to be brought into the coalition in order to form a majority government. The Orthodox parties would always come with certain conditions and demands, which ranged from no buses on Shabbat to kashrut certifications for restaurants-plus other, more minor things. The most significant thing about the new government is that, for the first time in decades, it will include no Orthodox parties.

Israeli officials believe that chemical weapons were used yesterday in Syria for the first time in that country’s two-year conflict, with each side blaming the other for an attack that killed at least 25 people. Syria’s arsenal of chemical weapons is thought to be the world’s largest, and last week IDF Director of Military Intelligence Maj. Gen. Aviv Kochavi warned that the Bashar al-Assad regime was preparing to deploy portions of that arsenal. Opposition forces are known to be seeking to overrun Syrian army depots where the weapons are stored, but are not known to have succeeded.

White House Map ‘Erases’ Jerusalem, Biblical Territories
WorldNetDaily reports: The White House has released what it says is a map of Israel. The only problem is that Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the Golan Heights are missing. An Obama administration video highlighting the president’s plans for his Mideast trip depicts Jerusalem, the Golan and the West Bank – also known as Judea and Samaria – as non-Israeli territory. The Washington Free Beacon, which first reported the discrepancies, noted the video shows the Golan Heights as part of Syria; Jerusalem is depicted as part of the West Bank; and northern Israel is shown as part of Lebanon. Fox News reports: The Obama administration has told the injured survivors of the Benghazi terror attack “to be quiet,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) alleges in an exclusive interview with Fox News. While Congress presses for more information surrounding the infamous Sept. 11, 2012 terror attack, Graham says the survivors feel as if they can’t reach out and tell their stories.
