SETTING OUR MINDS ON THINGS ABOVE
Imagine that you had made a copy of a clean and clear document. Now imagine that you made a copy of the copy. It would look quite good, but it wasn’t exactly the quality of the original. Now
imagine that you kept making a copy of the copy. Eventually, you would end up with a copy that was nearly unreadable because all the imperfections along the way kept getting magnified. The “imperfections” at each step were barely noticeable, but eventually, they completely obscured the message of the original document.
This is a picture of what sin has done to our culture over time as the sin of one generation has become magnified in the next. This is true for the entire world ever since sin entered the picture, and it’s true for our nation. We now live in a day where the biblical directives and warnings of our founding fathers have been obliterated in the hearts and minds of way too many Americans by the cumulative effects of sin.
Now that we see the primary reason things are the way they are, we shouldn’t be shocked by what we see. With this background, I’d like to briefly focus on the article about the Shadow Government. It reinforces the sentiments of many (me included) that those at the top of the national leftist political ladder are simple puppets of the real movers and shakers behind the curtain. People like the billionaire globalist, George Soros. This sentiment has been with us for a long time:

To destroy this invisible government, to befoul the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of the day.“- Theodore Roosevelt, 26th President of the United States.
My thought for today is simple and straightforward and reflects the truth to which I keep returning because we all need to be reminded of the bigger picture. What people like George Soros don’t realize is that they too are merely puppets of the great puppet master who is working all things on the world stage according to what is preordained and written in the Book of Truth.
Can you imagine George Soros as a puppet? He is so sure that he is controlling world events through his billions and political influence, but the truth is that he is merely responding to the one who is, in a sense, pulling his strings.
While it’s hard to connect our loving God with the machinations of such an evil man, we must remember that the Bible contains many examples of God using unsavory characters for His purposes. In 1 Kings 12 we find King Solomon’s son, Rehoboam, ignoring the reasonable requests of the people (as well as the advice of the elders who had served his father), resulting in rebellion against him and the division of the kingdom into Judah to the south and Israel to the north. In verse 15 we learn that Rehoboam didn’t listen to the people because it was a turn of events from the Lord, so that He could establish His word which the He had spoken through the prophet Ahijah.
God’s ways are not our ways and His goals are much higher than anything we could imagine. We are to take comfort in His love for us and in the knowledge that He is indeed sovereign, even as our nation is on the verge of collapse.
