SETTING OUR MINDS ON THINGS ABOVE
This week’s news verifies what we already knew or suspected. The corruption within the DNC, leftist organizations, the corporate media and the Obama administration extends far and wide. It is far worse than we ever imagined. Republicans, Christians, and conservatives are seen as the enemy and the political machine will do whatever it takes to crush the opposition. The article about the Christian Lt. Colonel is a preview of coming attractions. Christian speech, even in “private” and “unofficial” settings, and even when the comments are simply an answer to a question, will come under fire. Make no mistake. We are entering a new era.
I have often written that the best thing for the Christian community in America would be a good case of persecution. What has transpired in my neighborhood after Hurricane Matthew illustrates my point. I am regularly witnessing neighbor helping neighbor as never before. Friendships are being formed, and many who have lost almost everything are visibly overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and assistance, mostly from Christians. Within our neighborhood, I have seen more “transformations in process” in the past ten days than I have seen in the thirty-two years we have lived here.
Perhaps the current political situation in America is just the tool God has chosen to do the same for His Church. It certainly helps us to view it all in a different light, and it should affect the way we pray for our nation and the Church.
