God’s Abundant Provisions

This past week saw yet more attempts to delegitimize the Trump administration, more evidence that the Obama administration committed numerous felonies while surveilling Trump’s transition team, and more outrageous and disgusting reports of Muslims in academia trying to force their propaganda down students’ throats. Jordan’s King Abdullah threatened Israel to try to force a two-state solution, Planned Parenthood’s corruption was exposed again, and we learned some troubling facts regarding our “intelligence” gathering agencies. To top it off, scientists think they have discovered portals into a parallel universe

Regarding a parallel universe, I can’t imagine there’s anything out there as screwed up as this one. Yet, while things here are a mess, God’s work continues unabated. Despite the anger and bitterness around us, when we learn to see where He is working, we’ll discover that He is unaffected by any of the things that get us so worked up. What He decides to do is as good as done, and it will be done with abundance and excellence since He does nothing half-way. As we decide to join Him, we quickly discover that He offers the same abundance as He gives us the grace we need to sustain us-grace beyond measure. When we get discouraged, His grace upholds us and His word gives us hope:

But you, be strong and do not lose courage for there is reward for your work (2 Chron. 15:7)

Our God will give the love we require to love the unlovable (not so different from us) and the grace to forgive our accusers, those who oppose us, and those who simply don’t understand what we are doing. Living this kind of a life requires a lot of grace, and our Heavenly Father has more than enough to shower on us, on only we will deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him, wherever He chooses.

When we fail, He will forgive us. When others fail to thank us for what we have done for them, God’s grace surrounds us and He reminds us the there is a heavenly reward waiting for us. He never promises to provide for all our pet projects, He does promise that we will never face a shortfall when we give ourselves to what He is doing.

As we observe political correctness and partisan politics at their worst, we can rise above it all and minimize its effect on us by immersing ourselves in God’s work. Not something we have dreamed up, and not something that seems like a noble project. Look to see where God is already at work around you. That revelation will be your invitation to join Him, and His provision for you will be abundant. As long as our ultimate goal is God Himself and not what we can do for Him, we can expect a bountiful harvest.
