Jewish Targets on Alert
MJAA reports: Israel’s government this week issued a severe warning to Israeli and Jewish targets around the world of imminent terrorist threats. The Counter-Terrorism Bureau issued a statement saying that it had “concrete” evidence of planned attacks against Israeli and Jewish targets in dozens of countries. There is a high probability that these attacks would occur during the high biblical holidays of Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and the week-long festival of Sukkot. Making these dates even more enticing to terrorists is that the high holidays this year coincide with the September 11 anniversary of Al Qaeda’s successful assault on America in 2001.

The Israeli military (IDF) has confirmed that four rockets were fired this morning [Friday] from Lebanon into Israel. One rocket was intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome anti-missile system, while the other three fell into open areas. Early coverage revolved around responsibility for the attack, which was launched from territories controlled by Hezbollah and patrolled by personnel from the Iran-backed terror group and their Lebanese allies from the Amal Movement.
Diplomatic tensions between the U.S. and Turkey escalated today, with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu lashing out at Washington after U.S. officials criticized a recent speech by Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan as “offensive, unsubstantiated, and wrong.”
Supporters of Egypt’s former President Mohammed Morsi are calling for “Friday of
Martyrs” protests to be held later this week, following last week’s “Day of Rage” demonstrations that saw over 60 killed in what the Washington Post described as “violence involving the security forces, protesters and armed civilians on both sides of the nation’s widening political divide.”
At least 25 Egyptian police officers were murdered this morning in what the Associated Press describes as “execution-style” killings, with suspected Islamists ambushing two police minibuses traveling near border between Sinai Peninsula and the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip. The attackers forced the officers to kneel on the ground before shooting them in the backs of their heads, raising to more than 70 the number of security officials killed in recent clashes across Egypt.

CUFI reports: \Our Christian brothers and sisters are under attack in Egypt. At least 60 churches have been targeted. Three nuns were paraded on the streets like “prisoners of war.” Christian schools, homes, businesses and even an orphanage have been attacked.
