Recently, a conference of Catholic bishops meeting in Rome issued a statement blaming the ongoing dispute between Israel and the Palestinians squarely and solely on Israel. They demanded that Israel withdraw from all “Arab lands conquered in 1967” to allow the Palestinians to “live with dignity.” They specifically rejected the Bible promises regarded the Holy Land as applying to the modern nation of Israel. Then Stephen Sizer, a well-known Anglican replacement theologian made news promoting his film “With God on Our Side” and his book “Zion”s Christian Soldiers.” Echoing former President Carter, Sizer called Israel an “apartheid state” and decried the support Israel receives from Christians around the world. Finally, the Israel/Palestinian Mission Network of the Presbyterian Church voted to “engage in divestment and in an economic and commercial boycott of everything produced by the [Israeli military] occupation.” The group called on Christians around the world to stand in solidaritywith the Palestinians to “put an end to the existing evil.”

of Pennsylvania Avenue take more decisive action to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons as they seek to hasten the coming of the Twelfth Imam? At the same time, the Prime Minister will be assessing the threat of radical Islam to the Jewish community here.

Last week, President Obama addressed the nation about explosive devices intercepted by foreign nations and reported that two devices were destined for synagogues in the United States. The President correctly applauded the work of our national security teams and our allies. But toward the end of his remarks he showed (once again) that he just doesn”t get it. First he expressed assurances in the President of Yemen who has often failed to assist us in our fight against terrorists and has aided and abetted terrorists. And then he says: We”ll also continue our efforts to strengthen a more stable, secure and prosperous Yemen so that terrorist groups do not have the time and space they need to plan attacks from within its borders. No President Obama, making Yemen prosperous will not stop terrorists based in Yemen. Killing them will and destroying the poison of Wahhabi Islam is necessary to rid Yemen and the world of Islamic terrorists. This is not an economic problem and until the Obama administration understands this we as a nation will not win this war.

The Oklahoma chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations announced today it will file a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of a state ballot measure that bars judges from considering Islamic law in any ruling. On Tuesday, with about a dozen other states watching, Oklahoma became the first state to put before voters the proposition that Islamic courts, Islamic law – known as Shariah – and Shariah-based court decisions should be banned. State Question 755, a constitutional amendment, was approved by 70 percent of Oklahoma voters. But at a news conference today, CAIR-OK Executive Director Muneer Awad called the measure unnecessary and offensive.
