Misplaced Trust
The last article is a truly significant one. Please read it. I will have more to say about this in upcoming posts, but for today my focus is one the proliferation of sex scandals. I came across the “Sex Scandal Orchestration” article after I had written my commentary. Please read this article for a possible explanation of the explosion of sexual misconduct allegations.
I included so many Roy Moore articles this week because the allegations against him affected me more than any other story. For years this man has been a hero to me. He has faithfully withstood

unrelenting and brutal opposition. For as long as I have followed his career, he has consistently defended Christian principles, moral purity, and the values that made our nation the greatest on earth. He has risked everything to protect the public posting of the Ten Commandments to the degree that he has become known as “The Ten Commandments Judge.”
This is why I was shocked at the widespread allegations of him being a “sexual predator.” The claims were devastating to me. How could this be? The number of accusers and the language in the writeups made it sound like it was common knowledge that this “man of God” had quite a raunchy reputation in his younger years. This didn’t seem possible. Had I been taken in by an imposter? Had I seen only the reformed version of a man who was once a “wild and crazy guy”?
Even many Republicans jumped on the bandwagon as the accusers were given the benefit of the doubt. Judge Moore’s record and reputation were ignored as the rush to judgment gathered momentum. While I admit that it is possible that the accusations are true, it is also possible that the Judge is the victim of a widespread smear campaign by the left and establishment Republicans.
Doesn’t it seem strange that not one allegation had been made against him until he became a threat to so many career politicians. Now, all of a sudden, women are remembering things and want to “set the record straight.” We have learned that serious sexual accusations, even if proven false, have been successful in tainting the public perception of the accused.
Time will tell where the truth lies. If the accusations are proven to be accurate, then I, and many others, have been taken in by a charlatan who will pay a heavy price if he fails to acknowledge his guilt. We will also be reminded that mortal humans will eventually let us down, so we should be careful when we place too much trust in people and not enough in our Lord.
If the truth reveals that the accusations are nothing more than a smear campaign to ruin the reputation of a true public servant, we can conclude that we are living in a day when admired people from both political parties, will do just about anything, including destroying their “opponents” in order to gain or regain power. Therefore, we should be careful when we place too much trust in people and not enough in our Lord.
Perhaps, we will discover that both are true. Some of the allegations were factual while many were fabricated. Both sides are guilty, teaching us that we should be careful when we place too much trust in people and not enough in our Lord.
There seems to be a pattern here.
