Church of Scotland Denies Israeli Rights
Jerusalem Prayer Team reports: The Church of Scotland recently issued a paper called “The Inheritance of Abraham.” This shocking document rejects “claims that Scripture offers any peoples a privileged claim for possession of a particular territory.” It goes on to say that “reconciliation can only be possible if the Israeli military occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem and the blockade of Gaza are ended.” After an outpouring of protest, the church has agreed to “reword” the document.

The organization hosting the tournament, Mifalot, seeks to provide assistance to at-risk and special-needs children, as part of a program of “promoting peace and coexistence by creating bonds of friendship between Israelis, Palestinians, and Jordanians.”

Forces loyal to Syria’s Bashar al-Assad regime have regained the momentum in the bloody
war. The Washington Post conveys analysis to the effect that “there is little doubt that the pendulum is now swinging in favor of Assad,” providing the regime with a range of potential advantages from a relatively stronger negotiating position all the way to limited military victory. Damascus has been able to mobilize as many as 60,000 irregulars partly trained by Iran and Tehran’s Lebanese terror proxy Hezbollah, and has also directly called upon Iranian and Hezbollah soldiers.
A series of anti-Hamas leaks from Egyptian security forces — in which the Iran-backed terror group is blamed for fomenting violence inside Egypt — may be gaining traction in the Egyptian public sphere.The charges are part of a media war between Hamas and the Egyptian army. The army blames Hamas for a string of terror attacks in the country’s Sinai Peninsula and beyond.
Iran will chair this year’s annual session of the United Nations Conference on Disarmament, taking the helm of the U.N. body despite broad international concerns that Tehran is pursuing nuclear weapons and shredding the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty. Iranian state media bragged about the announcement, framing it as a diplomatic win for Iran and a loss for the United States.
Human rights groups are expressing something approaching horror after a video was posted online showing a Syrian rebel commander cutting out the heart of a Syrian soldier and eating it. The video allegedly shows Abu Sakkar, the founder of opposition group Farouq Brigade, excising the heart and liver of a dead soldier, declaring “Allahu akbar [God is great],” and then biting into the heart.
