David Albright, of the Institute for Science and International Security (and a former
inspector for the International Atomic Energy Agency), released a report Friday that flatly contradicts the claims of the Obama Administration that Iran is still a year or more away from being able to build a nuclear weapon. The massive increase of centrifuges that Iran is using to up their output of enriched uranium has shortened that time to perhaps as little as one month, according to the report.
Last week, world leaders declared that Iran was willing to make concessions regarding their nuclear program. This week Iran announced that it would be building 34 new nuclear plants in the next seven years. Iran also announced that Russia has agreed to help them complete this project with technical and other support.

The left-leaning Israeli paper Haaretz quotes a Hamas official declaring that the Palestinian terror organization has been functionally “sentenced to death” by Egypt, as Israeli and Egyptian measures to degrade Hamas’s capabilities – coupled with a series of disastrous geopolitical gambles – keep the group bottled up and isolated in the Gaza Strip.

Brotherhood figures who have thus far escaped the wide-ranging decapitation campaign being waged against the Islamist group by Egypt’s army-backed interim government, a move likely to fuel ongoing analyst discussions outlining scenarios under which Cairo may succeed in largely collapsing the Islamist group’s influence inside Egypt.
