Sadly, most of the news out of Washington recently has been bad news
for Israel, but this week there was finally one piece of good news. The final defense authorization budget bill contains three times the help for Israel and joint US-Israeli defense projects that President Obama had originally requested. This increase reflects a clear recognition of the severity of the threats that Israel faces. The bipartisan bill passed overwhelmingly also requires the president to report more frequently to Congress on the military threats that Israel faces.

Egyptian officials announced today that the country’s Muslim
Brotherhood-linked former president Mohammed Morsi will stand trial on terrorism-related charges, declaring that he and 35 other Brotherhood figures will face charges for among other things conspiring with Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps to sow instability within and beyond Egypt’s borders.

The Washington Free Beacon late on Wednesday published details of measures emerging from the House of Representatives seeking to – per the outlet – “reset the terms of a controversial nuclear accord reached between Iran and Western nations several weeks ago in Geneva.”

WND reports: A threat to Hillary Clinton’s much anticipated 2016 presidential campaign appears to be developing in Egypt where that nation’s government is taking steps to criminalize the Muslim Brotherhood. Specifically, a new criminal complaint has been filed with Egypt’s attorney general, Hisham Barakat, alleging then-U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton collaborated with Naglaa Mahmoud, the wife of ousted Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, in seeking to incite domestic insurrections to topple Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the Egyptian general who has been commander in chief of the Egyptian armed forces, as well as minister of defense, since Aug. 12, 2012. New Evidence in Obama Birth Certificate Investigation
GodfatherPolitics.com reports: There’s a new investigation brewing. Here’s the latest from WND:
“The lead investigator in Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s Cold Case Posse investigation of President Obama’s birth certificate says the case has taken a startling turn, and sheriff’s investigators now are assisting the Cold Case volunteers. “‘When this information is finally exposed to the public, it will be universe-shattering,’ Mike Zullo told WND. ‘This is beyond the pale of anything you can imagine.’ “Zullo explained that because it’s an active investigation that could produce criminal charges, he’s unable to reveal details at the moment. “But the allegations, he said, which go far beyond a fraudulent birth certificate, could be public as early as March. “The issue arose once again because of the death Wednesday in Hawaii of state Health Department chief Loretta Fuddy in a plane crash. She was the official who waived state prohibitions and provided to the White House a copy of a document that Obama presented to the public as his birth certificate. “It’s the document that Arpaio’s investigators have concluded is fraudulent.” Read more.
IRS Renews Targeting Of Conservative Groups
CFIF.org reports: Apparently these folks know no shame. Tim Lee with the Center for Individual Freedom is reporting that the folks at the IRS are at it again. Apparently, the Obama Administration either lacks any sense of irony whatsoever, or it simply maintains no interest in propriety or any appearance thereof. The latest occasion for that observation comes from a new partisan stunt originating out of Obama’s Internal Revenue Service (IRS) – the same IRS that was humiliated earlier this year for selectively targeting libertarian and conservative groups is actually redoubling its effort. In recent days, the IRS unveiled new proposed regulations targeting libertarian and conservative nonprofit organizations. The nation still hasn’t been allowed to get to the bottom of the existing scandal, yet here we are facing another IRS campaign with the same goal in mind. Read more.
Issa Warns Obamacare Navigators Are “ACORN Revisited”
Cowboybyte.com reports: House Oversight and Government Reform
Committee Chairman Darrell Issa warned Monday on Fox News that there are no checks in place for Obamacare navigators, the individuals tasked with helping Americans sign up for health insurance. They don’t have to follow any of the rules that every state in the country has for insurance people, he said. In other words, navigators are not bonded, finger printed, or identified in any way that would help prevent felons or identity theft perpetrators from having access to consumers’ personal information. “This is basically just another form of community organizing paid for with your tax dollars,” Issa said. “ACORN revisited, if you will.” Read more.
